Course Description: (required)<\/strong><\/p>\n

Start will be on a gravel track heading uphill with the leadmines chimney on the horizon. At the top of the hill you head into the trees for some rooty single track. Twisty, berms, jumps, rocks on the descent. Out onto wide fire road before heading into a technical climb which is wide enough for passing. Lung buster. Back into the trees for some more single track. Lots ot it with tight turns and narrow gaps between the trees. More climbing and then a technical downhill. Cross the lane and into the trees again. Lots and lots of single track. A challenge to maintain speed and few places to take a drink. Out onto the gravel path for a sprint finish to the line.

Senior beginners (S3 women \u2013 S4 men)<\/strong>
\nThe sport will only grow when we attract new people to give cross-country racing a \u2018go\u2019.
\nAs per 2019 both the Senior 4 men and Senior 3 women have a reduced entry fee as per a proposal passed at the 2017 Cycling Ireland Off-road Commission AGM.
\nAs per 2019 the Senior 3 women\u2019s race will share the Under 14s course as per a proposal passed at the 2017 Cycling Ireland Off-road Commission AGM.
\nBoth the Senior 4 men and Senior 3 women\u2019s races should last less than 60 minutes.<\/p>\n

Under 6 race<\/strong>
\nThe Under 6s race is just for fun. It is an introduction to off-road racing. It is all about the achievement of starting and finishing. If your child can complete the course with ease and is ready for the next challenge please have them try the Under 8s race instead. There is no lower age limit on the Under 8s race.<\/p>\n

\nNO PRACTICE IS ALLOWED ON THE COURSE WHEN ANY RACING IS IN PROGRESS
\nRiders must have their race numbers on their bikes before they go out to practice.<\/strong>
\nThe venue will be open from 8:30 am on Sunday 7 May 2023.
\nNote: There is no practice allowed on any other day before the race.<\/p>\n

Location of registration desk and opening times:<\/strong>
\nSign on will take place at the race village. Signage will be in place to direct riders to the race village and sign on area.
\nNOTE: There are no registrations on the day – only race number collection.<\/strong>
\nThe registration desk opens at 9:00 am on Sunday 7 May 2023.
\nRiders must collect their race number at least 15 minutes before the start of their race.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Race numbers:<\/strong>
\nRace numbers will be supplied by the organiser which should be placed secured onto the handlebars in a way which makes it clear for timekeepers to read.
\nRiders must not cut, fold or mutilate race numbers.
\nRace numbers must be handed back at the completion of your race.<\/em><\/p>\n

Gridding:<\/strong>
\nGridding for Round 1 will be based on UCI points (for those who have them), top 10 from last year and time of registration.<\/p>\n
