Course Description:  This is the second year that a cross-country mountain bike race has been held at Bree. As per last year, the main loop begins again on the fire road climb but the start / finish line has been moved a little further up. We start with the same climb, fire road into the “badger” section of Bree Hill, looping back and forth with some elevation loss but mainly pointing up. The climb has been extended this year with the inclusion of a short flowy section from one of our most popular trails. Back out onto the fire road for more climbing to the top of the hill then it’s onto Outback – a nice fast piece of single track descent, before exiting onto the fire road again and then into a new section that has a couple of punchy, short climbs. Up we go again to complete the second part of Outback, then round the back of the Hill to climb up a trail that was included in last year’s NPS. Down we go now! This year’s descent is a nice mix of flow and tech with the tech bit first. First bit is fine, couple of smooth berms before we go over an old gulley jump, then snake round a steep but rollable series of turns and then join one of our older trails for a short section. The trail then veers right down a couple of drops (one rollable, the other ramped), sharp right hander and after that the finish is similar to last year. Apart from the main climb and final run-in, everything else to this point is new for 2023. We hope you enjoy it.
