Youth Development Day 26th June

Who is it for:

Under 8s to Under 14s

What’s involved:

  1. Quick introduction
  2. Bike set up (taking kids light weight into consideration)
  3. Demonstration of effects of body positioning on the bike
  4. Practical skills drills (race starts, braking, overtaking, line choice, cornering)
  5. Short 1 lap race simulations
  6. Q&A session

What’s required:

  • mountain bike or kids bike in good working order and suitable to off-road riding (The session will not be suitable for balance bikes)
  • helmet (mandatory!)
  • suitable clothing (gloves and long sleeves recommended)
  • bring your own water, snacks etc.
  • Cycling Ireland licence, this can be purchased on the day for €5 (it’s necessary for insurance purposes)

Notes:

Please note that at least one parent or guardian needs to present with the youth rider for the duration of the training session (for the full 2 hours)
